Welcome to MyReflectiveJournal
This reflective journal has been developed as part of EDES104: Digital Cultures and Capabilities...
The journal explores my developing understanding of digital technologies, digital culture and their implications for my future practice as an educator.
About Me
I am currently studying to become a high-school Religion and Maths teacher. I chose teaching because I love kids and I am passionate about the next generation and their future. I want to build student’s confidence, curiosity, and their relationship with Jesus through education.
I hope to show student’s the true meaning of having a relationship with God through my actions and passion to help them. As a future teacher, I have to acknowledge that technology is now embedded in the education system and in order to be a good teacher, I need to develop my ability to use it purposefully, critically and responsibly.
Gibb's Reflective Cycle
Gibb's Reflective Cycle is a structured model that guides individuals through six stages of reflection: description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion, and action plan. It is useful because it encourages individuals to critically examine their experiences, identity what worked well and what could be improved, and use these insights to inform and strengthen future professional practice.
I use Gibb's Reflective Cycle because it provides an effective and structured approach to critically reflecting on my experiences and identifying ways to improve my future professional practice.
